How It Works

Introduction

Invite each person to come up with three statements about themselves — two that are true, and one that’s a lie.

Execution

One by one, participants share their three statements. The rest of the group guesses which one is the lie. Then the speaker reveals the truth.

Debrief/Reflection

You can briefly reflect on surprising facts or interesting connections. This method helps build a fun, relaxed group dynamic.

Tips & Variations

  • Set a time limit per person to keep it moving.
  • For large groups, use breakout rooms.
  • Works well in both physical and virtual settings (use chat for statements).

Source / inspiration

Classic icebreaker game.
