How It Works

Introduction

Draw a simple “map” on a board: e.g., a hill (energized), a valley (low energy), crossroads (confused), or ocean (calm). Let your imagination guide it.

Execution

Ask participants to place a sticky note or digital marker on the map to show “where they are” right now. Add a name or symbol if they want.

Debrief/Reflection

Look at the group overview. Invite a few to share why they placed their marker where they did (voluntary). Reflect on the diversity of states.

Tips & Variations

  • You can switch the metaphor: a bus ride, weather map, emotional landscape.
  • Encourage fun and creativity – it’s okay to be playful.
  • For remote groups, use a tool like Miro, MURAL, or Jamboard.
